Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)


  • PEO 1 : To produce students who can excel in civil engineering profession or higher education by acquiring thorough knowledge in mathematical, computing and engineering concepts.
  • PEO 2 : To produce students who can apply their knowledge and skills to real life problems thereby not only rendering safe and economical structures against natural calamities but also environmentally sustainable and useful to the society.
  • PEO 3 : Mould and groom students to exhibit professional attitude, ethical behavior, ability to communicate effectively with everyone and adapt to the latest developments and trends by engaging themselves in life-long learning.
  • PEO 4 : Graduates will have awareness of contemporary professional issues and support the engineering profession through participation in professional societies and/or educational institutions

  • Program Outcomes (POs)


    1) Basic knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, sciences and basic engineering to solve the broad-based Civil engineering problems.
    2) Discipline knowledge: Apply Civil engineering knowledge to solve broad-based Civil engineering related problems.
    3) Experiments and practice: Plan to perform experiments and practices to use the results to solve broad-based Civil engineering problems.
    4) Engineering tools: Apply relevant Civil technologies and tools with and understanding of the limitations.
    5) The engineer and society: Assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to practice in field of Civil engineering.
    6) Environment and sustainability: Apply Civil engineering solutions also for sustainable development practices in societal and environmental contexts.
    7) Ethics: Apply ethical principles for commitment to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of the practice also in the field of Civil engineering.
    8) Individual and team work: Function effectively as a leader and team member in diverse/ multidisciplinary teams.
    9) Communication: Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
    10) Life-long learning: Engage in independent and life-long learning activities in the context of technological changes also in the Civil engineering and allied industry.


    Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)


  • PEO 1 : The diploma of this program will be able to meet the needs of public in the design and execution of quality construction work considering the health, safety, cultural, societal and environmental factors.
  • PEO 2 : The will analyze and design regular and complex structures having acquired the knowledge of building analysis software packages.
  • PEO 3 : The diploma will be able to work effectively as an individual or in a team having acquired leadership skills and manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
